Note: Maurice Sheppard is the Chief referee for Newfoundland &
Labrador. He is currently preparing Yondan grading (4th degree black
belt) and all level kata for black belt grading. The MUN Dojo also
prepares its students for national and international competitions

Note: Judo has been an Olympic sport since 1980. Judo was designed as a sport first and self defense second. There is no punching or kicking in judo. Matches are won by throws and holdowns or for adults as well,by submission from chokes or arm locks.
Our dojo prepares judoka for competition or is purely a place to get a really good workout and have fun. We have students from 7 - 70 years of age!
