Schedule: Kids train on Mon. and Wed. from 6:30-7:30pm, Adults train Monday 7:30-9:00pm, Thursday 6:30 – 8:00pm and Teens train Wed. 7:30-9:00pm and Sat. from 11:00-12:30pm. Competition for Teens Saturday 11:00 –12:30pm and Adults 12:30-2:00pm. We have separate coaches for beginners for each time slot Kata and Self-defense Monday 6:30-7:30pm

Additional Courses: Memorial University Judo Club: Introductory off for new members Judo is an Olympic sport Cost is $80 per semester for new members and post-secondary students A new uniform (JudoGi) costs $70. Classes commence Wednesday , September 14. Training sessions for ages 7 and up. Both competitive and Recreation Training. Dress: Be sure to wear a long sleeve shirt, track pants and no jewelry. The Memorial University Judo Club is now offering a special 4 week self-defense course. These classes will be held on Mondays from 6:30- 7:30pm, starting Monday, September 19, 2011 (Cost $20.00). Register at first class
Note: Maurice Sheppard has practised Judo for 36 years and is the Chief referee for Newfoundland & Labrador and a National Level "B" referee, a 4th degree black belt (currently highest level in NL), NCCP Level III coach, a member of the provincial and Atlantic Judo Black Belt Grading Boards. The MUN Dojo also prepares its students for national and international competitions Have fun learning a new skill and laughing is encouraged.

Note: Judo has been an Olympic sport since 1980. Judo was designed as a sport first and self defense second. There is no punching or kicking in judo. Matches are won by throws and holdowns or for adults as well,by submission from chokes or arm locks. Our dojo prepares judoka for competition or is purely a place to get a really good workout and have fun. We have students from 7 - 70 years of age!

Note: Sensei Bruce Mann, Ph.D. (Education), a 1st degree black belt in Judo, and 3rd degree black belt in Shotokan Karate. Sensei Bruce is nationally certified as a Judo Coach and as a Provincial Referee in both Judo and Karate. He has current memberships in Judo Canada (#130788), the Newfoundland & Labrador Judo Association, the Newfoundland Karate Association (#0020), the Newfoundland & Labrador Karate Union, the Coaching Association of Canada (#CC1044511), and the National Coaching Certification Program.
